Yesterday’s Government announcement is the first step towards us getting back to netball, which is so very exciting for all of us.
Whilst restrictions will be lifted from 11:59 tonight, there remain a number of important matters to tick off before we take to the courts. The first being advice from Bayside City Council’s (BCC) that we are permitted to use the Thomas Street facility for the purposes of formal sporting activities. The second is the lifting of Netball Victoria’s suspension of netball activities.
We have reached out to both of these parties and are awaiting their response.
We encourage you all to start your planning, but there are protocols and processes that we will all need to abide by before we get back on court. It is important that we wait for specific directives before we take to the court.
It remains our collective responsibility to manage our return to netball under the strict guidelines that will be imposed upon us, so please continue with your current activities with your members, and await further advice from us before taking to the courts. We know that everyone is itching to make this happen, and it will not be long before we are given the green light, so be a little patient for just a little longer so that we can return safely to the courts.
I will be in touch with you as soon as I have anything more to share. I will work to bring together all available information for you so you have a clear road map to return.
Looking forward to seeing you and your members out on court real soon.
